Cryptozoology is not just about Bigfoot, Nessie, or the Mothman. Cryptozoology also deals with animals such as the Pygmy Tarsier which was thought to have been extinct for over 80 years, but was rediscovered on the the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

The rediscovery of the Pygmy Tarsier gives me hope that my favorite cryptid the Thylacine may eventually be rediscovered in Tasmania, and this time protected from hunting. The Thylacine, also known as the Tasmanian Tiger or Tasmanian Wolf, was the largest carnivorous marsupial in modern times. Here is another link about Tazzie that I hope you will find interesting.
